I’m tired of thinking my life has to be a cliche

(Author's note here)

Nothing is louder than this room: it’s now silent
I’ve had to lean more on my peers - be reliant
The river flows into a sea of flame
Now nothing will ever be quite the same

And now I look into his eyes
And tell him everybody lies
Until I cannot see the skies
The sun has set so fast

Stick to what you know is yourself, don’t be pliant
Stand tall on your own its okay be defiant
Everyone knows when it seeps in you’ll change
That toxic blue sludge that we all call fame

And now I look into his eyes
And tell him everybody lies
Until I cannot see the skies
The sun has set so fast

The taste of morning dew
Washing off the feel of you
Suns peaking through that orange haze
First time I can breathe freely in days

Finally look into her eyes
Say we’re seeing through his lies
Now we look up to the skies

I don’t think I’ll cry
